I've had a very busy couple of months. Not only did I finish illustrating the first book in a trilogy for Bloomsbury titled, The Great Shelby Holmes: Girl Detective but I also went on the trip of a lifetime to the Canadian Rockies to say my final farewell to my late parents. I have also just started illustrating a brand new picture book for Frances Lincoln.
Shelby Holmes: This was a really fun little project and it was the first time where I've produced black and white illustrations. I got the job through the lovely designer, Andrea, who I previously worked with on the Anne Fine book, Under the Bed. Bloomsbury allowed me to give the main protagonist crazy hair which is always a positive thing to have in a children's fiction title! Below is an image of the cover. The first book is due for release 12th January 2017.
Canada: We spent almost 3 weeks travelling across the Rockies from Vancouver to Calgary. It was just...STUNNING! Here's a few photos taken from the trip.
